With Christmas a few weeks away, it is time to book your British Airways flight and head to the UK to explore the best Christmas markets in the country. As you walk around these markets, you can pick up amazing gifts for family and friends while sipping warm and energising mulled wine or indulging your taste buds to some delicious pastries and pies. Today, we bring to you a list of UK’s best Christmas markets to help make your shopping hassle-free.

1 – London

London boasts a number of Christmas markets, some of which continue into New Year. Southbank Centre Winter Market is place for traditional Nordic goodies and gifts. After all, that is what you should get at a Christmas market that is inspired by the Nordic countries!

London is also home to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, where you can do more than festive shopping. It is replete with circus shows to keep kids and adults entertained, ice rink, and gigantic observation wheel to give you a bird’s eye view of London’s stunning skyscape.

2 – Birmingham

If you haven’t had the luck of visiting German Christmas markets, don’t fret. You will be able to experience it right here, in Birmingham. The Frankfurt Christmas Market has the distinction of being the largest German festive market outside Austria and Germany. Located at Victoria Square, this market is replete with German treats, including beers, meats and pastries.

3 – Bath

The city of Bath has one of the biggest Christmas markets in the UK. You will be greeted by more than 200 stalls around the Abbey and the Roman Baths. This is the place to buy everything local, right from ceramics, toys, clothes and glassware. You can rejuvenate at the numerous food and drink stalls. After completing your shopping, try your hand at ice skating at the nearby ice rink. But do hurry and book your flight tickets, as this Christmas market is on just till December 10.

4 – Edinburgh

Edinburgh hosts several Christmas markets, with some doing brisk business into New Year. The market in East Prices Street Garden is perfect for families with kids. It has a big wheel to keep the little ones screaming with joy and you can be certain that the Star Flyer chair ride will be a big hit with all your family members.

If you want something more festive and traditional in Edinburg, make your way to the Christmas market in George Street. Here, Santa’s Grotto awaits you and this year, it has added a new attraction with its Ice Adventure, which is self-explanatory.

5 – Manchester

Like most other cities in the UK, even Manchester has several festive markets that will keep you entertained and busy. Albert Square in the city hosts a European-style Christmas market. If you are looking for something different, more along the lines of a German Christmas market then you should be visiting St. Ann’s Square.

Be sure to walk along Brazennose Street, where you can pick up jewellery, specialty food and leather goods from around the world. This is also the right place to purchase stunning art and craft for home decor or as unique gifts to loved ones.

With so many festive markets in the UK, it can be overwhelming to make a choice. Our compilation can narrow down your choices and help you make the most of your Christmas shopping. All you need to do now is book flight tickets and head over here in the UK to experience the shopping magic unfold before your eyes.
